Road & Sea Freight Forwarder

Our client is seeking to hire an experienced Sea & Road freight forwarder for imports and exports UK & Ireland

Based in Dublin 15 area, this role is a full time permanent position with a salary guide of €40K to €45K depending on experience

Due to the location, you must have your own transport.

You will be responsible for the end-to-end processes for Road & Ocean import and export operations.

Suitable candidates MUST have Irish Freight Forwarding experience in Sea & Road

Air Freight and customs experience would be an advantage

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organise and execute road and ocean freight support activities such as order processing, order scheduling, and timely updating of transactions within the system
  • Negotiating rates
  • Account Management
  • Deal with inbound emails, calls & queries liaising with customers and suppliers
  • Monitor shipment status proactively and address issues promptly
  • Ensure compliance with company and international regulations for all shipments and customs requirements
  • Arrange billing and record profit margin on consignments
  • Work closely with the team to deal with sales enquiries
  • Work with airlines, shipping lines and agents on shipment updates & rates

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 to 3 years’ experience working in road and ocean freight operations essential in the Irish market
  • Import & export operational experience essential
  • Experience with temperature-controlled shipments is desirable
  • Efficient MS Office skills
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills & attention to detail
  • Customer-focused and a friendly disposition
  • A team player with the ability to work on your own initiative

On Offer:

  • Salary €40K – €45K depending on experience
  • Monday to Friday, 9am to 5.30pm – Office based
